...marvel...a character died...

Icarus, (Joshua "Jay" Guthrie), is a fictional character, a mutant superhero in the Marvel Comics universe. He is a member of the student body at the Xavier Institute and a member of the former New Mutants squad.

This was a character from marvel I had somewhat been following since I saw this cover image...

and picked up the issue...

I haven't read much marvel in my time, but this character Icarus actually caused me to buy a Marvel Trade..
last summer called "New X-men: ChildHoods End" because there was an image of Icarus,
with his wings removed...never found out what happened til today when I read on wiki...

Icarus was then shown dying with Nimrod deciding whether or not to finish him off. Nimrod left Jay alone, Icarus was found dead by Ms. Marvel and Iron Man in Stryker's church with his hand in a position of writing, he was able to write "Nimro" with his blood before he died.

The character lasted 2 years....this bums me...first marvel character that actually cause me to buy
some of their books in a long time....a character that actually seemed to be interesting....*poof*

last saturday, june 29th
was the last time I watched tv
I have only look at my brother's tv to turn it off
other than that I have not watched tv any where
this might not seem like a big deal to some
but concidering I have always had a tv on in the background
since the being of time
this is really good for me
insteady I have been listening to music
reading comic books
and drawing
certain things I usually watch tv for I just get online
like weather.com
I am going to try to hold out until I get south park season 8
and have that be the first thing I watch

From that day on,

I began to read the different Legion comics I have collected.

Some more completely than others, some it was the first time I have ever read them..
I have a habit of collecting without reading.
What I have reviewed:

After having the story fresh in my mind I want to put a theory to Brainy kissing Lyle.

In the beginning they were rivals,
for who is the better scientist,
at least in Brainy's mind they were.
Lyle never to really seemed to see it this way.
He just want to prove to Brainy that he is a scientist too,
and just wants a bit of acknowledgment from the holy-er than thou, Coluian.
Yet making fun of Brainiac's name did not help, nor did showing him up(flight rings).
They started getting along, then Andromeda "died" and Brainy pulled away..
This really seem to tick Lyle off..
When Brainy went to the 20th century, they did not really miss each other,
only when they in a jam and the other's knowledge would it be useful,
did they notice each others absences.
Upon returning Brainy and Lyle worked together more...but they don't like it much.
The Upgrade caused Brainy to be more friendly and they got along.
But Lyle had a hidden sexuality and dating life.
Brainy had his mother try to kill him and Koko left.
So they pulled away again.
They could work together, it was progress, neither thought much of it.
Then the rift disaster....a year apart, with many trials and tribulations..
During this is when they actually missed each other,
not only did they want their co-worker back, they wanted their friend back.
When all was back to normal, they became close.
Being around each other so much cause their minds to be in sync with each other...
They can finish each other's sentences and then the kiss.
Then the 3boot....

Why did Brainy kiss Lyle?
Lets put it in perspective...

1st Brainy has had
his mother leave him,
Andromeda leave him,
Koko leave him.
So abandonment issues.

2nd Brainy has had
issues with "rifts"
-space and time

3rd Brainy has failed
when people have put faith in him
not a lot
but his confidence has been shaken

Put these together and You get

A Brainiac 5,
that is extremely worried and stressed
that his bestfriend will be ripped away.

;) How fair the friendship will go is another story.

Now here are somethings to concider...

Does Brainy know that Lyle is gay, more than likely not.
Does Lyle think Brainiac 5 is gay, no.

I noticed Lyle backed away a bit after..Brainy kissed him.
Nothing else seemed to happen til cancellation.
Now why is this?

Is it because he want to keep his sexuality a secret?
Is it because he does not want to develope, that type of love for Brainy?
It could be because Lyle might be dating someone.
Lyle may simple have so many conflicting emotions
he is not sure what to think.
Remember Brainy is not an affectionate being.
Lyle is the only thing that he has kissed in the last 12 years...

Look at the boards...these are fictional characters and people are conflicted.

If my bestfriend kissed me..I would be kind of confused too,
it disturbs me when people even touch my arm, hello, get away.

Dreams of the Legion

It has finally happened
I have read enough of the Legion, or reviewed them anyway,
for them to start showing up in my dreams.
It has been kind of odd sofar, I mainly just see them in the background
not nessarly doing this heroic, just random stuff.
You know how there is a lot of down time in american comics,
where we only see the main events because of so few pages?
unlike manga, that shows almost all the person's life based on
how many characters there happen to be...
Well with the Legion I am seeing all the down time.
It could have easily been the 31st century, based the DC version...
It was all live action, no cartoons here.
In the very beginning of the dream it was more like whiching a
Legion of Superheros movie, then it was real.

The Legion # 27 (2004) DC Comics

This issue truly inspired me.
See about that time I had been keeping my eye on
my favorite fictional character on Earth: Brainiac 5,
for about 10 years....and with one frame I was inspired
to draw Brainiac 5 fan art...and I keep on drawing him
even now. I was also inspired to come up with a doujinshi of my own,
of this character and lately I want to draw it, flesh it out, even look back
12 years ago when I first started drawing, work with the storylines I had
for such characters as: Hal Jordan, Power Girl, Wally West, Dr. Light,
the Crimson Fox, Fire and Ice. These were the characters I watched
before Brainiac 5 appeared in my life....I am totally geeking out... o_O;;;
